Hello,
Good use of the extra day this year. Yes keep the old master for rebuilding. You never know when good new ones won't be available. That is the current way for the slaves. But rebuilding a new slave has worked so far if no good core is available. I have used 2 of those LUK branded master in the past 2 years and so far they have been fine.
As far as those balancers. I have 2 of the turbo ones waiting for installation. I checked and the reluctor wheel for the 2.1 crank sensor will not mount on them. So if you are able to get a good used one get it before you need it. Last time I sent one out for a rebuild it took a little bit of time and wasn't cheap. Good Luck, Bernie
