seriously broken antenna... Posted by Michael [Email] (#1365) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Michael) on Tue, 31 Oct 2000 22:52:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello, I am in need of some help. I've got an '86 900S and the antenna broke off, but I can still hear the motor each time I turn the radio on or off. So, I got a new antenna and tried to replace it. Problem is I can't get the old one out. It is broken off right at the base and I can not pull it out. (Yes, I've already unscrewed the bolt that holds it in.) The black part of the antenna will move up a little, but the silver outside part will not even rotate. They are both pretty chewed up with the pliers by now. What can I do? I called the local Saab dealer and they weren't much help. They just said that they sometimes get stuck. I was quoted a $225 replacement fee. So far, I've only spent the $17 for a new antenna. How can I get the old one out?
