I get this problem every year..it's my heater core which goes anually. It always happens this time of year because now is when you start putting on your heat again. If you start to smell antifreeze in addition to having wet feet, that would be a sure sign. I'm not sure if leaving the heater off until it's fixed prevents further leaking, or if once it starts, it leaks until it's fixed regardless.
