Since my wife rear ended the car in front of her (MB ML 320), she's at fault so no way we can really get much loss of value and there's little of that in a $2,500-3,000 car.

Most of the 89s I see advertised are right in that range, so that's probably it.

I'll wait & see: the car's home now: not good but repairable: hood, lights, radiator, cross member, etc. No frame damage I can see, but my ballpark estimate is $3-5k. She locked up brakes so next car is going to be ABS since she couldn't modulate braking to avoid skidding.

There's a '91 at our local dealer for $8,995 (haven't seen it) but, for ex., Edmunds has it pegged at about $7k even with extremely low mileage (80k)... but I told her not to expect this car to be fixed.

Damn shame: probably the best car I've owned overall for longevity and not breaking down.
