Ok, first of all, I'm the one who asked last week whether or not the timing being off would make my boost have a flat spot or not. Here's some NEW news for you. The other day, I was driving along, hit a pothole in the street (Ithaca, NY, you know if you've ever been here) and my exhaust began to fall off at the weld behind the catalytic converter. now the car is very loud, but the exhaust hasn't completely fallen off yet. Here's the thing: When i hit the pothole and the exhaust broke, the turbo gained what felt like full boost (my gauge doesn't work), and has had great boost ever since, with no flat spot. I'm not sure that I weant to go home today to fix it! What's the deal? Why is it boosting so hard now that it's essentially missing its exhaust system from the cat-back? Thanks in advance, Matt (1985 900T 16v, 210k)
