After a year, I finally found a 5 speed turbo 900 SET for my brother. After him & his wife drove it for a few weeks, they both had a few complaints that it wasn't as much of a saab vs their 900s which it replaced. After about 8K miles (5 months) they enjoy the 900 SET more & more.
Last night, we raced (him/wife in stock 900 SET & me/girlfriend in SPG) going around a entrance ramp as well as 40-60 mph. I was all over him in the turns, he probably held me up 5-10 mph. He has Toyo Proxes SZ4's (almost new) & I have almost bald P6000's. Once the road straighned up, he was gone & then we stayed the same. He pulled me by a car length beofre my turbo was spooled up.
BUT, I have 50% compression in 2 cylinders & with all my go fast bits (was 230-250 HP) & would guess I am back to stock HP on a good day. My turbo lag is also a LOT worse then stock.
So what I am attempting to say is, put a Abbot chip & new springs on a 9-3 & it would be much more enjoyabe & faster to :o)
But for me, I will always have at least 1 C900, there is just soooo much character
