Hello, Nathanial, the flywheel can be balanced after machining on a mandrel that engine balancing machines usually come with as standard equipment. If the flywheel has been lightened it is mandatory to rebalance it however just a light regrind job properly done shouldn't change the balance all that much. If you're having the flywheel balanced anyway it's a good idea to have the clutch balanced as well. This can be done at the same time on the same mandrel after the flywheel has been balanced of course. We did have to modify one of our centering cones to clear the diaphragm finger I.D. portion of the clutch to do this correctly. Another way to do this is with a perfectly balanced crankshaft but it has to be absolutely straight and no run-out at the flywheel register. Dave.
