I use Bosch tune-up parts exclusively in my 86 900T. Haven't had any problems with them. From the way you describe your driving habits, I think the "6" heat range of your current plug choice is fine. But you might want to try the BCP6EV instead. They have a gold-plated center electrode, which resists fouling better than the copper electrode in the ES. I use the cooler BCP7EV and found it to last longer than the ES model of the same heat range.
That's my experience. Others may have differing views. But it seems the NGK is THE plug to use. It's the OEM plug for our cars and from what I've read on this board, it works the best with the APC/Turbo setup.
One other thing while I think of it. Make sure you use good spark plug wires. Magnecor is the wire of choice among most of the Sabbers here. I intend to get a set of them soon. They're expensive, but they last tons longer than the stock Bougicords or even the Bosch wires. Plus, they reputedly give better performance as well. Plug wires are a critical element of your tune up regime, often overlooked by the casual mechanic, as they can look just fine, but be worn out internally.
Cheers,
Dan
