just bypass it. It can cause a vacuum leak anyway.
Undo the lower kneepad thing, and move it, you have to remove consul first. Remember, there are bolts in the engine compartment secureing it.
You probably could do the job without removing this pad, but it is easier with it out of the way. Under there there are two vacuum gizmos. One is the APC piece, and the other is the overboost cutout. The APC piece has only two wires, while the overboost switch has a bunch.
Just remove the vacuum line from it, and make sure you still have a vacuum line going to the guage.
Very easy.
