I agree wholeheartedly with Ed. Well put. Old saabs and volvos suggested an annual treatment in the doors and other closed body panels with a light oil mist. I have used linseed oil to treat rust spots after they are already there to slow the progress. The c900 will not rust from the bottom anyway. Keep it clean and waxed even in the winter. Pressure wash out the wheel wells, keep the door jambs waxed as well. If there is rust developing on the spot welded seams under the rear seat, I suggest paint and possibly linseed oil. If the car has an OE Saab battery, get a piece of 1/4" hose and connect it to the battery vent and have it discharge under the car. As I have posted before, I feel that the battery acid vapor is the cause of the right hand side rot which afflicts some older Saabs. A sealed battery is also a help here.
