Ok In the past month i have had a few issues with the swab saab. Its a 89 900 t
with quite a few mods. See my page link at the botom or goto
http://www.midcoast.com/~snake/saab.html
I ll give you a short rundown.
1. Head gasket blew out by cylender 4. found out the head was warped. got it straintend and planed. new head gasket. When then did this they set my timing back to factory default. Was ajusted slighlty.
2. Soon after my distributer that had been leaking oil crapped out. Got a new distributer.
So my car drives a litle differnt now. any way to get down to my point in this story. Both hooter valves i have own have hooted. I curently have the spg9 20psi bosch type. Any way it used to hoot only when it crossed the 0 boost point, But now
it hoots most of the tiem i let the boost slip down. I can have it hoot for about 30 sec with out much trouble. I have checked the vac lines. every thing seems fine.
so my question is Is my hooter shot ?
i know it hoots because the diaphragm is resonating. I am going to get my timing set back to where it was. I guess the hooting could be atributed to the drop in temps here in Rochester NY. But still should it hoot that much ? I can get it to hoot for about 30 sec. stright. so either i hit a owl or something is wrong.
any thoughts ......
thanks
