Ok you all must get one of these fun things.
I took my 89 900 T up to Loveland Ski area last Friday and what a blast. I figure out that my timing is siting around 19-20 degrees. I started up I-70 and started to ease the throttle in 4th gear. Strong and started up the first major hill, got it into 5th and the car felt very stong. To my dis-belief it felt like I was in 18-20 lbs of boost land, but I was at 10-12 lbs of boost. Yea, running stock boost in the yellow, but running better than at higher boost. Got up to Buffalo Lookout at was there with a big old grin on my face. Made my way through the bends and small caynons but still not getting into the red. Because there was no need to with the car running so well. Now the good part of the story. Started at Gerogetown, which is at 8'700 ft and the start of a major climb up to Loveland at 11'200. Got into the Left lane and started up, and still no need to jam the foot to the floor because running soooo strong and steady 12 lbs of boost. And as fate would have it I was going to pass a 5.0 Mustang with a ski rack. He jumped in front of me and downshifted hard to 3rd and it looked like a big old disel truck with all the carbon that came out the back. I was still just going along and gaining at 12 lbs and it was obvious he should move to the right but he was a "tough guy" and stayed in the left lane. Well moved over to the right lane and gave it some gas, and Zowie!!! A/F gave moved into 2-3 green leds, and was at 19 lbs of boost and just went by with ease at 85 mph. Mr. Mustang then jumped into the right lane and flashed the lights and, even at 12 degrees at 8 am I saw his hand wave out the car expressing his feelings. Yep the old, but cold finger. Got up to Loveland and was very happy with the cars performance, and low and belhold Mr. Mustang pulls up and parks next to me. "What in the hell do you have in there, a 460?" No comment but it was a Kodak moment when I said 2.0 ltr turbo. So if you can get one of these AID's, man get one. I don't plan on tweeking much more on the AID because I was very happy with the performance at altitude, and want to only use the big boost when really needed. Go and get one, and its possible to spank a big old 5.0. But I've been ripped apart by a supercharged 5.0 many times out here, so it felt good to give one back to them.....
