Suggest no sandbags in rear. There are 3 types of traction situations: Acceleration, turning, and stopping. Clearly, in the first 2 more weight in the rear is a drawback, because in Acceleration, it's just more burden on the front tires' traction, and in Turning, it's more weight to prevent from swinging around (burden on rear tire traction). In Stopping, if the car were not well balanced, extra weight might help, BUT GOOD SNOW TIRES (FRONT AND REAR) are better.
