turning the rod in will increase the boost...also on the 8 valver motor that you have the head design is kinda crude, but extremely tough...if you have not done a head gasket in the past, try turning it only two turns at a time, probably maxing out at 10-12 psi..get a boost gauge that reads numbers...15 psi is pushing it..you only have oil cooling, so make sure you let the vehicle idle a good 30 sec. after a drive..let the oil cool a little, keeps it from "cooking" in the intake line...also, make sure if you increase your boost, use small zip ties to hold the vacuum lines on, otherwise you may blow them off and be hunting around in the middle of the nite for the vacuum leak from hell...be good to your saab, it is cool you own a 81 8 valver turbo...most of those have bad trannys or turbos and have already bitten the dust...
