You don't need super crazy performance wires. If the ones you have are old and rotten anything will be better. Go for a 4 gauge at the least and if you want better go with 2 gauge. A few bucks difference both will work. I redid my batt cables when I wired a stero amp .... so while I was at the audio store I got enough 4 gauge audio grade cable and gold plated terminals to wire everything also platinum plated batt posts and a new positive distribution block to replace the cheesy metal plate that was stock.... and about $100 the Voltage is very good in my car and starter never hesitates. I expect these wires to outlast the car but like I said, a set of wires from wall-mart for 8 bucks will do you just fine and you're only out 8 bucks and some sand paper to clean the contact points.
