My 92 9k turns over slowly :(

All the Saabs I have ever heard start, start slowly. I mean when the starter is starting the engine, the engine turns very slowly compared to all other brands of cars. About 2 months ago my starter died. We removed it and cleaned it all up, inside and out. For about 1 day, the speed in which it cranked was about 2 to 3 times faster than normal. Then the starter went back to its normal 60 rpm, vs lets say 200 rmp. Any ideas? All the wires going to and from the starter and battery look great, and the battery is a new (well as of about 6 months ago). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as.
Thanks,
Jeffla :)-
