The solinoid is universal on the back cap.With a conventional ignition system the 4th connection is used to feed battery cranking voltage to the ignition coil,and bypass the ballast drop resistor feeding a lower voltage to the ignition coil during normal running so the coil will not overheat with the normal 14.5 volts supplied.
