In-dash cup/coin holder Posted by Joe [Email] (#444) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Joe) on Wed, 27 Feb 2002 12:37:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I own a '98 9K and totally loathe the stock "cup holders" in the console between the seats. Since this console replaces the missing glove compartment, using the cup holder tray takes away some precious space! They also became near un-useable when I installed an armrest that now limits how high the console lid can be lifted.
I saw an older model 9K ('92 - '94) that had a cup holder/coin tray installed in the dash. It looked like a Saab oem part, but was told otherwise by Saab. It even had the 4 holes to remove and install it like the other components in the dash. It requires moving the radio/cassette player and the cd player down one each, and removing the lighter/ash tray completely, thus installing it into the top-most position. It works by pushing on either slot (marked "Cup Holder" and "Coin Tray"), and out pops what you requested.
Has anyone ever heard/seen one of these, and if so, where can I get one? I would greatly appreciate the help in this as I'm tired of holding and spilling my coffee all over myself as I drive. Thanks!
