Fuel pressure regulator?

If the FPR is bad, the injectors could see full pump pressure. With the ECU opening the injectors for what it thinks is the right length of time, the excess pressure will deliver far too much fuel.
Run the car, then switch the ignition off. Pull the vacuum pipe off the regulator (little round can on the end of the fuel rail) and look for fuel in the pipe due to a split diaphragm. If there is, replace the regulator. You want to check this first, so you don't get fuel spitting at you when you do the next test.
Replace the pipe and with the engine running, try pulling the vacuum pipe off and see if the idle gets worse. If it does, the regulator is probably OK. If not, it is likely that the regulator isn't doing its job.
