or a vacuum leak Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Fri, 10 May 2002 15:37:31 In Reply to: Engine Boggs, Agood, Fri, 10 May 2002 08:32:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Vacuum leaks are the bane of the SAAB Turbo driver. If the vacuum hoses or the rubber bushings that hold the vacuum nipples into the intake manifold and valve cover haven't been replaced recently, think about taking care of them. Bushings are available from the sponsors relatively inexpensively. Rubber 3.5 mm ID vacuum hoses from chain auto parts will work for a few years. Silicone 3.5 mm vacuum hose from hosetechniques.com or a speed shop like (shudder) NOPI will work for many years. It's around $1US per foot.
I had the same cold bogging with my 900T. After I replaced the vacuum hoses and bushings, cold driving became infinitely smoother.
