I've had an '86 and my current '96. Had an alternator go on the first one and tried to make it home on the battery. Almost made it but not quite. Missed it by maybe a half mile. My '96 blew its clutch hose (between the master and slave located under the battery tray). I made it almost home thanks to good traffic light timing, low traffic volume (hope nobody saw me run those stop signs) and some careful clutchless shifting. Got caught by the low speed, uphill hard left on the private road that leads to my house. But coasted home without power after a helpful push over the brow of the hill.
