Wuuuuuup wup wup, waaah, booga booga!
Yep, the man's certifiable.
OK, so I take a crack at installing these SAS sway bars this evening ... how hard can this be? Hah! So here's what's making ne nuts: The wonderful SAS instructions (that's a joke, folks) tell me the lower shock/sway bar attachment nut and bolt are 19 mm, but I try everything I have in every toolbox I have and nothing fits it. Nothing metric, nothing SAE. No socket, no wrench that I own. I can get Vicegrips and a Crecent wrench on them, because those are the duct tape and baling wire of tools, but I can't do any work with them because the quarters are just too close. So am I nuts, or are those bolts/nuts really 18 mm? If Sears has an 18 mm socket, I will absolutely revere them forever, 21% interest rate notwithstanding. They impressed me immensely with the 15/16" deep well 6-point socket that I needed for the oil pressure switch, but I think an 18 mm socket is the ultimate challenge. Any even-numbered socket/wrench above 14 mm is completely bastard (I called this 18 mm thing a lot worse names than that). I think I might have owned an 18 mm socket once, but I'm not sure ... I certainly haven't owned one in years (although I do have a 20 mm and a 22 mm for some odd reason).
And WHAT is with these reinforcement plates that SAS gives you? Getting them into the hole in the floor is a Chinese puzzle; they will only go one way, and it's unbeleivably esoteric. Well, that's another story. All I can say is, this evening was a magnificent waste of time, although I did manage to get one set of the reinforcement plates installed.
