The car would almost go its own way by increasing speed and at idle the rev would go up with no way to stop it. scary. When I turned the thing off, it wouldn't start.
You replaced alsmost everything imaginable, but may I venture.....
In my case the culprit was the vacuum line between the PCV valve grommet ( this thing on top of the engine where the small and the large hose go into) and the inlet manifold. The fitting of that line (grommet) by which it is held in the manifold was damaged and leaking. I ended up blowing it out of the manifold at acceleration with spectacular results: I did not have any control over the accelerator and the engine speed would keep on increasing.
Make sure that line is ok and the valve that is halfway is pointing the right direction.
