You don't say whether the engine cranks or not, I'll assume it does but just does not start.
The fuel pump is only initially powered at startup during cranking. It does not run if the engine doesn't, so your pump may be OK, and the relay could be faulty. There are several other things to check as well. AirMass Meter, Throttle position sensor and of course the grand daddy of 'em all... the ECU.
Don't assume the ECU is fine until you are sure, I spent several weeks and several hundred $$ last year in my stubborness to not suspect the ECU.
Upon switching on the Ign. and attempting to start a helper or you, but you need two people, should hear some action at the pump for a second or two. One other caution here, the fuel pump fittings are fragile and easily broken so go easy in that area with any attemp to disconnect anything. CW
