Hi,
The glow is really not related to the oil. Well, sorta, the turbo lines maybe clogged but if they were not it would not change the presence of the glow. Did the oil pressure light come on or did the EDU "oil level" warning come on. If the pressure light is on that is a problem. If the oil level light comes (on EDU) and there is a sufficient oil then its NOT a problem. (The wires could be damaged, they are on the oil pan, exposed to the elements)
Oil pressure is created by the pump which is not for failure, however the "overpressure valve" that is right next to the oil pump is know to get stuck creating similar syptoms (low pressure, nothing to do with turbo glow) The other thing is the head gasket. SOme thing to look at especially the signs of failure of the gaskets **maybe** temp related. Lastly, I would change the oil and see if that makes a difference, check the oil as it drains for signs of COOLANT present. Coolant would come out first if there is any.
Best Regards
Roman
