water in tail light

I am in the process of buying a 1993 9000 CSE and had it in for a pre-purchase inspection. The battery is on it's last legs, the tranny fluid is a little brownish, but other than that she checks out just fine. However, the real driver's tail-light had about an inch of water in it. Didn't think to check inside the hatch to see if there was water anywhere else. The sunroof was leaking, but the used car dealer cleaned out the drain. I most likely will buy this car. Anyone else experience the fishbowl-in-a-taillight phenomenon? Hopefully it's just a bad seal on the housing.
