You didn't tell if the bleeder valve on right side of false bulk head had been replaced?
A bad valve can set off several other faultcodes. And the valve itself have gone through many updates, so even if the valve was replaced several years ago, it might be time again for the newest version.
Have it ever happened to the technician when he was test driving?
It does sound like the shop is more interested to throw parts on the car and let you testdrive, instead of finding out the real problem.
Even with a labscope hooked up to the leads on throttle body, it's very difficult to see a variation of the electrical pattern. This is because every time the car is running, IT IS NO PROBLEMS IN THE CIRCUIT.
Only when the system do it's hickup and place you in limp home is the problem there. And the technician have to have the scope hooked up to the right lead in question.
Not many shops want to take that approch, because it could mean 10-15 hour of testing, and it COULD come down to that the car needs a new throttle body or pedal sensor, which they already have told you to replace.
What talks against TB is that it it's the newest version on your car from factory and I have yet to see one go bad.
It is also up to the customer to decide, HOW MUCH MONEY ARE YOU WILLING TO SPEND TO FIX THE PROBLEM. If $1000.00 is way out of the league for you, the shop might not try too hard to look into the problem, just resetting the codes and send you off. $1000.00 or more is not that unusual for to fix a TCS problem.
This system is so complex together with that the faultcode software program inside TCS ECU is not developed enough, which means that the software can easily send you the wrong way with displaying the wrong codes.
I hope they figure it out for you, or that you find a shop that will.
