Greetings,
I have an '89 non DI with high miles but quiet operation.
Wife has '96 CS with DI and 2.3 engine - much core mechanical chatter coming from timing chain side of block. I have heard several other 2.3 engines that sound a bit noisy. Is this normal? is there just more moving parts? I will be changing her oil today and seem to remember it is always quieter for a while after this.
Any of you experienced 2.3 people are welcome to rest my worries of chain problems by saying your is a little noisy too.
I have 240,389 miles and very quiet -she has 62,000 and noisy. Thanks
