I really doubt that your entire existing ABS system is bad. My guess is that you only have one, maybe two, bad components. In terms of replacing one or two components, that's not a big deal, depending on the component. Master brake cylinders aren't fun, but doable. Wheel sensors are cake.
I would replace only what is bad. Otherwise you (1) run the risk of breaking something putting it in that didn't need removal, and (2) run the risk of replacing a good part with a ready-to-break one.
Also, if you haven't troubleshot the existing system, how do you know you're replacing the right thing? Shotgun replacement is a pretty good way of expending a lot of effor with a good chance that it still won't work. If it still doesn't work, then what do you do?
Find out what the bad part is, and replace that.
