OK, so your 87 have the very first ABS hydralic unit, Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Wed, 23 Apr 2003 09:50:37 In Reply to: Hydralic Pump / ABS Pump / Haynes Manual, John Smith, Wed, 23 Apr 2003 09:24:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
you need to find one from 87-88 only.
The pressure switch and accumulator is the same through the years.
I have seen several of those early pumps go bad but not that many 89 and up.
The pump unit is mounted across under the master cylinder on yours, and the pressure switch is pointing forward and hidden under battery tray.
Those early systems had big problems with corrosion at the pressure switch connector, and I would start by removing battery tray and disconnect all electric connectors from ABS unit and clean them out with electric solvent and protect them with di electric grease.
That might take care of your problem.
