Lets see. The government lets car companies market, build, and distribute high performance cars in this country, many capable of speeds well in excess of 150 MPH, but God forbid if you ever try to drive one even close to its limits.
I've got an idea. Lets have the government require all new automobiles to be governed to 70 MPH max. Any car that is modified to eliminate the speed control would be confiscated. That will solve the "safety" problem with high speed drivers. There, thats not government bashing.
Oh, but then the system wouldn't profit heavily from us speed "freaks".
Likewise, I think I've heard enough of the ultra conservative republican BS arguments also.
