Don't insult the car or it will get back at you. That's when the machine shows its personality. Yes they have one, its true.
Wide relay you will prob. find cracked soldered areas where the big relay heavy tabs didn't get hot enough in the assembly. In the pictogram module tall skinny boy cracks appear at the angle mating of the two circuit boards/base junction. Old solder is contaminated and cleaning it off will help have clean new solder applied. Solder wick or sucker. 60/40 minimum 63/37 best solder to use. Rosin core, never use flux which has a salt (any chloride) which most paste fluxes have. That is for sheet metal. Mostly rosin flux is liquid, Kester does make it in a paste but hard to find stocking store. If you don't want to do it and can afford the down time send them to me with a return shipper. Mule or overnight your choice.
Sockets for lamp can go loose also, use sharp needle into wire to let voltmeter see if there is voltage on wire going off to grd. (there should be no volts on that line i.e. no resistance to grd)
I won't be able to look at site again on Thurs as we have a family member undergoing some surgery. Maybe see it Friday. G'd Luck
