Of course, overfilling a battery isn't a good idea. But I assume the question had to do with replacing boiled-off electrolyte.
Overcooking the battery isn't a great thing - it will reduce the life of the battery in the long term. How much life lost? Can't say. However, I'd keep an eye out for battery problems (low starting voltage) 6 months to a year earlier than if the battery had never been stressed. It may just be fine. But since most people replace batteries 'on-condition' - i.e., when they stop working, only time will tell.
