just finished replacing turbo 2nd time on '95 9Kt(first one was used and had bad seals). In fact, won't run the engine until tomorrow morning...daylight better to see any leaks. Can't see advantage to removing manifold unless there is some other reason. It is no quicker and I snapped two studs in the process. Definitely easier also to detach upper coolant line at the head and wait until turbo is off engine to get at banjo without rounding top. Question is this: how to remove broken studs without removing head (studs are the leftmost top, behind a/c compressor, and right end, easy to get to except for the angle. Problem is that I tried to easy-out the left one and just made a mess of it without getting the stud out. Any suggestions. If I take it in are they going to have to take off the head?
