The first thing I would do (and always do) is get as much information as I can. In this case I would check the fuel pressure during the time the car is acting up. You have to add the fitting to check the pressure, the fitting and the gauge are considered "special tools" but can be found for the most part at a chain auto parts store. You have to modify a fuel pressure bolt by adding the same fitting from an air conditioner, but then you can use the Same gauge that works on Chevy's, Ford's, and Dodge's to troubleshoot your SAAB. When you know what the pressure is doing, post it. My fuel pumps have given me the most trouble at speed, the car would start and idle fine. The only starting related problem's I have had are pressure regulation and check valves. Basically they drained the system back to the tank when the car was shut off and I had to crank till the pump pushed all the air out. The weak pump only showed up at highway speed, it couldn't keep up with the amount of fuel required .
