Clutch components will cause shifting problems **only** if it's been sucking in air. And that comes only from the master cylinder or slave cylinder. Step 1 is to verify that there's air in the slave cylinder (clear hose on the slave bleed nipple, open the nipple and watch for bubbles or clear fluid.) If there's air, next step is to take the easy path, and replace the master cylinder. Also, you should be able to bleed the system and get a few days of respite before it craps out again.
If none of this helps, then the problem isn't in the clutch at all. Next step is to drain and refil the transmission. Three basic choices here ... Saab Synthetic Stuff (old type or new type), RedLine MTL, or Honda MTF. Lots of folks on the C900 line are reporting good results with the Honda MTF, and nothing shifts as nasty as a C900.
If none of the above helps, then you're facing a failing second gear syncrho ring. Note that much of the cost of a transmission repair is the "in and out", and you will be paying for that with a simple clutch repair too.
If the slave cylinder is sucking air, then a total cluch job is called for.
