They are NOT laser cut. They are cut on a special dual head miniature milling machine - I watched the locksmith cut mine. There was ONE guy in our city of 500,000 (Winnipeg, Canada) that had the equipment to do one. He called it a "sidewinder" key. I was charged $35 Canadian for mine. The blanks go for ten bucks US or thereabouts on Ebay so if you can get the dealer to cut one for twenty US you're doing well.
The guy that did my key is in the business of supplying keys for truckers - Volvo, Peterbilt, and the like. Maybe you can call around to some large truck service places and see where they get their keys done.
I took the long route of calling locksmiths - must have talked to 20 people before I was directed to the one guy working from his basement that could cut the key for me.
