I have a 97 9000CSE which is supposed to take 5.4 quarts (5.0 liters) of oil. After draining my oil and replacing the filter (I let the oil drain out hot for about 20 minutes) I poured in 5 quarts right away. I started the car let it run for a minute or two then checked for leaks and shut her down. I then checked the oil level and it was already at the 'X' on 'MAX'. I have no idea what to think. The front wheels were up on ramps when I drained the oil but these ramps are so low that it was still a squeeze for me to get under her. I drove her like that today (nice and easy though because of the level) and the level is still the same. Should I siphon out some oil (probably at least 1/2 quart) to get the level down to MAX or is the dipstick not correct? Is it possible that the dipstick is not the correct one? It is part number 9170655. To me it seems like taking oil out would be bad since that would leave it almost a quart lower than what it is supposed to have. Please help because I don't know what to do! Thanks!
