Hey, guy--read what you just wrote for us! It sound like you've got the car of your dreams sitting outside waiting to blast off for Mars, so you've decided to give it to your brother and go find something with less muscle and then build that up?

Unless there are serious delayed maintenance issues with your '91, why part with it? And if there are, my question is, "What did your brother do to deserve a problem gift?"

I speak from the position of having had a '91 and having had to face the fact that living where I live (no competent Saab indy within 75 miles) and having acquired a car that did have serious delayed maintenance issues, we had to part ways. My current vehicle is a gently-used-by-PO 98 CSE, and I love it too. But it is not the four-wheeled catapult that my 91 was, and I sorely miss those moments of simply demonstrating (to self and others) what a true hotrod (oops, I mean Saab) can do when it gets up on its hind legs.

Later cars have their issues (like TCS...) and a very different character going down the road. You are not going to duplicate your 91--whatever you hang on something of later vintage, it will never be quite the same.

So why are you giving this wonder to your brother?
