I have and love a '91 9000 CD non turbo. The timing chain went at about 85K. It costs about $2500 or more if it goes before it is fixed and takes o few things with it. The gears on a '91 are soft and have to be replaced. If the timing chain and gears are already replaced it is a good car to buy although it is expensive to fix. If not I would not pay very much for it and the first thing I would do if check the chain and the gears. Definitely have it inspected by a mechanic who does a lot of work on Saabs. Does the A/C work? Do you need A/C? I spent about $1300 to keep the A/C working over the last 18 months.
