Just bought a sharp low mileage '97 CSE - 43K miles, extra nice, records - dealer serviced, non-smoker. Car was in Colorado, so I flew out there and drove it home to New Hampshire in three days - 2100 miles. Ran like a top. Even had time to stop in Auburn, Indiana for the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg festival :-) .
I have some questions, hoping for some insight...
- The right rear speaker has an alternator whine and that I think is ignition noise. The noise doesn't start 'til about 30 seconds after the radio is turned on. Other speakers are OK. What to check?
- Where's a good place ('good' as in better prices than the dealer) to buy a fog light and arm rest? One of the fog lites is cracked and I definitely need the center arm rest.
- Horn question - is there a 'volume' adjustment nut on the horns? One honks weakly and the other one doesn't sound at all. Or, is it better to just replace 'em? If replacing, should go stock or something else (louder is OK). If aftermarket - what's the best?
- Turn signal/cornering lites? This is my first 'real' Saab. My wife's 9-5 and daughter's 9-3 both have cornering lites (fog lite turns on with turn signals). Is the 9000 supposed to do the same thing? It's not mentioned in the manual.
What's the proper color for the front spoiler (or is it just 'black'? It's a bit scratched up (and I guess that's when the fog lite broke).
