Underneath. Under the engine/behind the air dam is a horizontal plastic cover. If you undo the bolts on the passenger side, you can drop the cover down. There is a hose out of the washer pump (bottom, outside) and that hose goes through a two-way check valve - one way to the headlights the other to the windshield. It'll be hanging there in space.
I've replaced this a bunch of times. Usually it doesn't leak that fast, but it'll easily leave a nice puddle. But I could see an extreme case leaking like that. If nothing else, it's a very common failure mode, and a heck of a lot cheaper and easier to fix than the bottle.
