....it's main funtion, not the only function, is to monitor the cat'. It's also used in a very complicated PID control loop to keep the proper stoichiometry. Basically, the Trionic is constantly adjusting the time the fuel injectors cycle so that the fuel/air ratio is ideal, but the 1st 02 sensor is more critical to this than the 2nd.
