Last week I replaced the second transmission in just under 3 years. This week I replaced the head gasket and a myriad of other things including the crank pulley, both idler pulleys, starter, and all the seals so I could make the transition to full synthetic. At 193k miles, I still love my Aero.
My local shop had my head resurfaced, new valve seals, plugs, thermostat, the list goes on. My total bill was in the $1900 range for the repairs this week. I was quoted $1300 for the head job alone. I'd be curious to know if the Indy's $600 job included resurfacing the head.
That was a quick $3500, but no regrets.
Good Luck.
