I did a bonehead thing today. Inorder for me to transport a fridge to the dump I had to disconnect all wires to my amplfied sub woofer and remove it from the trunk. I had check to make sure that the amps hot wire, remote wire and ground wire were not touching. The radion worked fine until after I loaded the fridge. I had double check to make sure the wires were not touching but ignored to check that the +/- speaker wires.
When I started the car apparently the a set of speaker wires were touching. This caused the antennae to stuck 1/3 of the way up, the clock stopped, the radio light went dim, the enter code notice came on and the trunk 6 pack CD cycles as it does when a battery goes dead.
After expressing myself with a few $10,000.00 words, I checked the fuse box and noticed the 15 amp fuse for the radio/clock was blown; big sigh of relief.
Made a beeline to the parts store picked up some fuses, hooked everything up installed fuse turned on radio, fuse blew. I disconnect the antennae installed fuse, turned on radio, fuse blew again. Same thing after I disconnected the rear speakers and then the subwoofer.
I am now livid, The fuse just keep blowing as soon as the radio is turned on, I do not know what to do next.
I have never had a problem with the stereo since I owned the car with only 6 miles on the odometer.
I will explore any ideas, HELP.
