The other problem - oil leak

1990 9kt 2.0l engine
Serious oil leak.
Checked everything I could think of
1) Dry behind the harmonic balancer,
2) Dry around the oil pump.
3) Not the oil filter
4) Thought it might be the oil level sensor -
changed o-rings. But that is the messiest area of the engine.
Above the pan line, on the firewall side, somewhere in the
area of the filter, sensor on the inboard side of the
power steering pump is where it seems to be.
What's in that area that could cause a serious leak?
