Hi, after a couple of years with my C900's, I'm back with a black 1997 AERO, this time with the famous 4HP18Q from ZF......and of course with a problem !!!
The tranny is working smoothly w/o any problem, except that, once at operating temp, there is an erratic down and upshift between 4th and 3rd. This only happens in a "critical zone" between 70 and 95 kmph and is absolutely unpredictable (without throttle, with light or mid throttle, while accelerating or only decelarating....). I already flushed about 10 quarts of tranny fluid and changed the filter, but the old fluid looked absolutely clean. Before going to ZF here in Saarbrücken I just wanted to ask if this has happened to somebody else and where I should start !?

Thanks in advance, and it's good to be back in the 9000 family (even if there is play in the drivers seat, the door lock solenoids have to be changed and the head gasket to be retorqued!)
