The estimates vary from as low as 10 hours to install a rebuild to book quotes up in the 15 hour range for R&R of a 9000 transmission, the other items may add a few additional hours.

I'd call up one of the site sponsors or Eriksson transmissions and find out what their leaadtimes are. I would then approach the saab certed place and say that you understand that shipping during the holidays can be slow, but what is the estimated time for shipping and when they plan to install it.

If their answer doesn't match up with leadtimes from transmission suppliers or the schedule is a month out, you and either grin and bear it, or consider moving the car to another shop that might be more responsive.
