If you could provide more information what is stripped it would be help ful. There are only two scnarios I know of that could damage the intermediate shaft. One would be to force the transmission on during installation when the shaft doesn't exactly match up. Another could happen if a 5 speed transmission is installed on an engine formerly having an automatic transmission. In the latter case the carrier bearing housing (aka rear engine mount bracket) is different between an auto and 5 speed. There is a forged marking on the bracket, A or M. Installing a 5 speed on a formerly auto trans engine without also replacing the rear engine mount bracket will cause the intermediate shaft to break in about 1,000 miles.
Ask me how I know this. I had two shafts broken on my 94cs 6 years ago until I learned with the help of good folks on this board.
