I've done it three times on three different models of 9000's. My criterion for thinking that the job is very hard is that, halfway through, I begin to wish I'd paid someone to do it. Never got to that point with this job. If you have a helper, which I didn't, it'll be much easier to hold the A/C condenser unit out of the way to slide in the blower housing. If you're a novice, your only potential problem will be a tendency to over-tighten your hose connections.
Getting the old blower motor out of its housing is difficult and not covered by Quasi, IIRC. It helps to put the housing on some wooden blocks, open side of the motor facing the floor, and the blocks touching only the housing, not the motor. There is a small hole in the housing which will admit a punch. Give it a firm whack with hammer and punch, and out it comes. Oh, and put a rag on the floor below to soften its landing.
Heater controller installation (Darlington transistor): the heat conducting paste is a must-have item. Without it, your new controller lasts just a few minutes.
